Recs for Starting A Book Club
8 things I've learned from running a book club in hopes it inspires you to start your own!
I wanted to chat about something super fun that’s become a highlight of my month: Book Club! You may be thinking, isn't that what retired people do? And to that I say, we're making book clubs cool again, okay?!
This has been such a great way to hang with my girls, talk about books, eat good food, drink fun cocktails, and of course, read! Reading is my way to unplug and recharge after a long day of staring at screens. There’s something magical about getting lost in a good book, don’t you think? 📚
I've always loved reading, but in 2019 after years of only reading while on summer vacation, I started going to the local library and picking it up as a hobby again. This year, my goal is to read 32 books in a variety of genres, and I’m happy to say I’m on track! I mix it up with audiobooks, Kindle reads, and good ol’ physical copies. Spotify even has audiobooks now, so no need for Audible.
A bunch of my girlfriends love reading too, so we started a book club called the Lakeland Book Girlies about 6 months ago.
